I am immensely proud to be the serving Principal of The British School of Beijing, Sanlitun. There is a fantastic sense of community at our school and from the moment you enter our school, we work very hard to make sure you feel part of something special. Having worked previously as Head of Primary at The British School of Guangzhou, also a Nord Anglia Education school, I know that sense of belonging expands to being part of a global community.
Born and raised on the Wirral, I attended Durham University and stayed in the North East of England for the next 6 years of my early teaching career. One of the highlights of my time there was being seconded as an advisory teacher in the Durham area. Travelling around different schools to deliver model lessons and organise and lead teacher training enabled me to develop personally and professionally. I also worked as a deputy head teacher. After I left Durham, I began working internationally in the United Arab Emirates and Switzerland. The experience of working at Le Rosey, a Swiss boarding school, gave me an alternative perspective to what I had experienced before in the world of education.
Golf and skiing are my main passions these days. However, I am a keen Everton football supporter and keep up-to-date with how they are getting on in the English Premier League.
