Kirsten Harding

Head of Early Years, Kirsten Harding

Head of Early Years, Reception Whales Class Teacher, Teaching Assistant Coordinator

I have been teaching since 2003 and I hold a degree in Early Years Education and Professional Development. In the UK, I taught in Reception and prior to that I worked in a resourced Nursery school, working with children who had a variety of Special Educational Needs.

I decided to come to the British School of Beijing, Sanlitun as I felt that I was ready for a new challenge in my career. This will now be my fifth year as the Early Years Leader. I am passionate about teaching young children and I strive to create a fun and stimulating environment for all.

I am a mum of two grown up children and a Granny of one, who live in the UK. I love to travel and living here in China has given me the opportunity to see some wonderful and interesting places. I also enjoy dance and exercise classes, as well as shopping and reading. I am a positive, happy person who always sees the glass as being full. In any situation I always aspire to try to do the best that I can.

What the students say:

My Nursery children think that I am a "kind teacher", I am "friendly and happy" and that I "tell great stories".
