Having graduated from the University of Bristol with a Masters in Composition, I worked for many years as a peripatetic guitar teacher and musician. I particularly enjoyed my work in schools in which I was teaching one-to-one and group lessons, organising and leading choirs, ensembles and orchestras, guiding children towards performances and exams and assisting in school productions.

After graduating from the Music Academy at Belgrade University with a Masters Degree in Music education (in 2006), I began my career as a choir conductor in Sydney, where I got my Degree recognised by the Australian Government and Ministry of Education. This gave me an opportunity not only to work and teach one-to-one and smaller group: voice, violin and piano lessons, but to establish and conduct the St Nicolas four part choir which mainly focused on religious and classical music.

I have been passionate about teaching since I was a child. My mother, who is a kindergarten teacher, and my father, a retired petty officer in the navy both inspired me to love learning and to push myself outside the box in order to explore the world. I graduated with English and Chinese language and literature degrees at “L’Orientale” University, the most prestigious university for East Asian Studies in Naples, Italy.

    German Teacher

    Valeria Song

I have been teaching German language in Beijing for 8 years. I have both worked in the university sector with Masters students and at the same time in primary schools with German children. I enjoy the challenge and find it very interesting to work with different kinds of students, because each group needs to be taught in a different way and has completely different targets. I joined BSB Sanlitun in 2013. I always wanted to work in an international school, as it gives me the opportunity to bring all teaching ideas to life!

I have been teaching PE in the UK for several years throughout both Primary and Secondary education. This has provided me with the experience of teaching across all 4 key stages of the English National Curriculum, including GCSE. I studied Sport Science at Northumbria University and after completing a placement year at a local secondary school, I made the decision to embark on a career in teaching. After graduating, I completed my teacher training through Teesside University’s PGCE Programme at High Tunstall College of Science. I have since went on to lead the delivery of PE at Grange Primary School and managed the schools extra-curricular programme.
