I completed my B.A.(Hons) in Economics in 1982 and commenced work in the motor industry, as I have always enjoyed learning I undertook an MSc at Loughborough University. I enjoyed my career however, when our two sons completed their university education in 2013, my wife and I decided it was the perfect time for a new adventure. We were excited to join BSB Sanlitun and I became a TA for Year 4. In 2016 I was delighted to join the EAL team and I have enjoyed the new challenge of teaching pupils from Year 1 to Year 6.
After spending 30 years in senior management roles in the UK, working at BSB Sanlitun with Year 4 was a huge change but one I have very much embraced. To improve my skills and knowledge I trained as an EAL teacher and had 5 months working in a Chinese school in Beijing as an English teacher. The opportunity to work at BSB Sanlitun with the EAL team is extremely exciting. The learning environment at BSB Sanlitun is fantastic, with great topic based learning and a really positive rapport between teachers and pupils.
Outside of school I enjoy keeping fit, I play squash and swim regularly. I love having the opportunity and time to travel and explore new places both in China and abroad. Our sons still live and work in the UK, we miss them but they have encouraged our adventure.
