English as an Additional Language (EAL) Teacher

Moving to China from Australia was a big change and it was the point where I decided to switch from a career in the financial sector to one that I always thought about when I was younger, an educator. I joined The British School of Beijing, Sanlitun in 2014. I’ve had the opportunity to work with different year groups, giving me a wide perspective on different approaches to education and rekindling my passion for education once again.

I completed my CELTA qualification to facilitate this transition into the education field. I’ve been teaching at various language schools in Beijing to students from 5-30 years old. I have found it great here at BSB Sanlitun as the learning environment is fantastic, always encouraging the students to push their boundaries and to be curious about new things!

My favourite pastimes are travelling and reading. I’ve been fortunate in life and have travelled to almost every continent in the world and have enjoyed many a sunny day with a paperback in one hand and the local coffee delight in the other. My only other distraction would be jigsaw puzzles!
