Classroom News & Photos EYFS

This week in Nursery we have been continuing with our unit on ‘Changes’.

We have continued with our focus activity this week painting scarecrows. The children will be able to look at our own classroom carecrow who they named ‘Mr Happy’.

For phonics, we began listening for sounds at the beginning of words. Timmy the train visited the classroom and was looking for objects that start with ‘a’. The children did printing with apples and drew six legs on an ant.

In maths we learned about making simple repeating patterns. The children made some great patterns using the peg boards and hanging colourful clothes on the line in the house.

For PSED (Personal Social Emotional Development) we practiced taking turns, talking about how we can ask our friends when we would like a turn. Friday was lyellow day so everyone came to school wearing something yellow. The children will be made lemon cakes, squeezed lemons and ate yellow jelly!

We listened to a story all about Divali and talked about light and dark.  Tuff Spot was full of spiky objects that remind us of hedgehogs this week. We had a great time making our own hedgehogs from sticky bread dough.
