This is a great achievement for them and we are all very proud of what they have achieved.

To qualify for this award, the students had do a Skill, Service and Physical Recreational activity for a full year. They also had to complete an Adventurous Journey. The group chose to do an ‘Expedition’. This involved 3 days hiking and 3 nights camping in the grasslands of Inner Mongolia. The practice expeditions were carried out in Yang Qing hills, northwest of Beijing, and on Hainan Island.

A considerable amount of time and effort was spent by the group over the last academic year in completing the above activities while studying for their IGCSE examinations. I have been impressed by their dedication and perseverance, and the skills they developed in terms of organisation, leadership and team work. Once again, well done to the students for being accepted by the International Award organisation for the Silver Award!

Finally a big thank-you for the following staff who assisted with running the award programme, Miss Colleen Usher, Mr Dion MacIver, Mr Simon Alles and Miss Nicola Hemming.
