All the MFL teachers helped celebrating International Day. We had a variety of activities taking place in German, French and Spanish.
In German, Mr Mende’s students tasted some tasty German cakes. Mr Müller shared his passion for Geography. The students were encouraged to spot and locate various German landmarks and cities.
In Spanish, the Year 11 students put their cooking skills to good use and explored Spanish cuisine by recreating certain dishes. The Year 9 students created flags from various Spanish speaking countries. In Ms Châtillon’s Spanish class, students talked about Spanish music. They had a blast dancing the Macarena following instructions in Spanish.
In French, creativity was the word of the day! Our Year 9 students looked at the work of Henri Matisse, a famous French artist. After sharing information about the painter-sculptor, they were encouraged to create their own “chef d’oeuvre” inspired by the work of Matisse using collage.
We hope our students had a fantastic time learning about the cultural aspects of Germany, France and Spain.
