This week, the Year 1 children enthusiastically participated in the Roald Dahl celebration that is happening all across the school.

The children read The Enormous Crocodile by the prolific author and completed various activities under the same theme. In topic the students explored various textures and learned how to best make use of collage materials by creating a crocodile out of 3D materials.

English lessons continued the theme of crocodiles by reading and analyzing an instructional text called, "How to Make a Cucumber Crocodile". The children identified and wrote down action words from the text. They also followed the instructions and created their own crocodiles that they could eat and enjoy at home.

In Maths, the children tried to apply their expanded knowledge of 3D shapes to create crocodiles and crocodile traps and houses using blocks, 3D blocks and other construction materials.
