The Primary and Secondary Choirs have been working hard on a project for the last two months for Voices Around the World (www.voicesaround.com). “Voices Around the World is a free project with a mission to help young people everywhere work together musically to Sing Out! Speak Out! And Change the World!” Two weeks ago they made professional recordings of their voices in small groups. Last Tuesday 31st May, all 100 students filmed the video out on the field with a large Chinese flag and dragon. These audio recordings, pictures, and videos have already been sent to the VATW headquarters. For the next few weeks, their team will be working on putting together these files with the ones submitted by choir students from all around the world. The students loved the experience and can’t wait to see the final result!

On 2nd June, BSB’s two rock bands named “Limestones” and “The Eclectic” performed at BCIS’s Rock Fest. It was their first off-campus ‘gig’, and they absolutely loved the experience. Eight rock bands from five international schools in Beijing performed a variety of repertoire ranging from traditional rock to fusion to heavy metal. It was amazing to see the creativity, talent and dedication of all the groups. When our students weren’t performing, they were filming and cheering on the other groups. The outdoor stage, electronic backboard and cheering audience made them feel like true rock stars.

Please enjoy the photos from these two events and join me in congratulating all our young musicians on their hard work.
