Tuesday 23rd August was a very special day for the first graders of the German Primary: they had their very first day of school.

After a warm welcome speech by our Principal, Mr. Puttock, it was time for our smallest guests to start into their new life as school children of German Klasse 1. The first day of school is something very special in Germany. Children create a Schultüte together with their parents which is then filled with little surprises. Same as every year, we also met on the last day of the holidays to create such a Schultüte with the parents and the children at BSB.

During the festivity, the little students learned with Ms Dünnebier and Bibu- bear, the class-teddy of GK1, that even little cars have to leave the car-kindergarten one day to join the car-school. This little story was presented by our students from GK2, GK 3 and GK4 as a funny additional act. We finished the ceremony with GK1 on stage, where they met the other children of the German Primary, Bibu-bear, and, of course, their new class-teacher, Ms Graf. Finally, our Grade 1 students left to have a first glimpse of their new classroom.

Update from: Ms. Yvonne Dünnebier, Head of German Primary
