What a great start to 2016-2017! All Music Department groups and activities are up and running. In Primary, we had so many participants last year that we have split some of the groups. Now there is something every day at lunchtime: Y1&2 Choir on Mondays, Junior Orchestra on Tuesdays, Y3&4 Choir on Wednesdays, Junior Wind Band on Thursdays, and Y5&6 Choir on Fridays. In order for our performances to be done well, we require commitment and enjoyment from our participants. The instrumental groups are by invitation only, and students should have at least one year of lessons on their string or wind instrument. In Secondary, our choir and orchestra have doubled in size. In addition, the students are already working very hard on “The Wizard of Oz” and have their first Saturday rehearsal this weekend.

We already have some upcoming events! On Wednesday 21st September, the Y3&4 Choir will be participating in “One Day One Choir”. All participating choirs need to sing a song promoting peace and then either send a picture or a video to the headquarters of the project. Please find more information on their website: http://www.onedayonechoir.org/. And in October, the Y5&6 Choir will be entertaining the guests at the annual British Ball once again. Please enjoy the photos of our rehearsals and the start of the Primary Instrumental Programme.
