The Global Campus has announced the winners and highly commended entries for this year’s Visual Arts competition.
Congratulations to BSB Shunyi’s Ethan Li from Year 2 who was chosen as a highly commended entrant in this year’s Global Campus Visual Arts Competition!
Children were challenged to create a piece of art to illustrate a winning creative writing piece. Schools in China were given a choice of 7 winning stories to illustrate for ages 8-11 and 5 stories for under 8s. Children chose one story in their age category and then created a piece of artwork of their choice – including painting, drawing, collage, sculpture, photograph, stamp or digital art.
In total 80 children took part from BSB Shunyi Primary School, and across Nord Anglia schools 2000 students from 26 schools participated in this year’s competition. This is a fourfold increase on the 500 students who took part last year. The quality of entries was high and the judges had to make some very difficult decisions. The judging panel comprised NAE subject specialists as well as artist Phillippa Walter, over a total of three rounds.
BSB Shunyi’s Ethan Li from year 2 was chosen as a highly commended entrant for the ‘Under 8s’ category and he will receive a certificate, a pastel set and his work will be published in next year’s Global Campus art and writing anthology.
Many congratulations to Ethan and to everyone who submitted artwork!
