BSB Spring Outing to Hongluo Temple

Enjoy a trip to this beauty spot on the outskirts of Beijing

  • Hongluo temple

We are holding our annual BSB family outing on Saturday 16th April.  This year we are taking a trip to Hongluo Temple near Huairou which is about 1 hour away from school. Hongluo Temple is also known as The Red Snail Temple and is situated in 800 hectares at the foothill of the mountains surrounding Beijing. The area has numerous picnic tables situated in beautiful wooded areas and there are a number of walks through the large site. Some of these walks take you to the many Buddhas in the ‘500 Arhat Garden’, the 12 animal sculptures dotted around the area and of course the Hongluo Temple itself. There are climbs up many steps to pagodas situated high up where you can enjoy breathtaking views of Beijing and the surrounding mountains and countryside. The wonderful array of flowering plants, bamboo and trees in the Springtime make this a wonderful time to visit this quiet, elegant beauty spot.

Please note that the site has wide paved walkways suitable for strollers but there are numerous steps up to the pagodas so parent backpack child carriers would be more suitable if you wish to access these areas.

You can take your own picnic food and drink but there are restaurants available too and souvenir shops and a small market area outside the park itself.

The cost of the bus transport is 50RMB per person and this needs to be paid on registration via Yoopay. Hongluo Temple park entrance costs are 54RMB per adult and 27RMB per child/student and you will need to pay this yourselves on the day of the trip, so please remember to bring enough money for your family. Secondary students should take their school ID card with them to show when paying.

The bus will leave Sanlitun campus at 8.45am and Shunyi campus at 9.30am and leave Hongluo Temple at 3.00pm. Please be at your departure point 10 minutes before these times to avoid missing or delaying the bus. Parents will be fully responsible for their children on the day and children should not be sent unaccompanied.

Please complete the Yoopay registration and bus payment details on this link:

https://yoopay.cn/event/23259322      (then select Chinese or English at the top)

by 4pm Tuesday 12th April. Due to bus deadlines we will be unable to accept registration and payment after this date.

We look forward to welcoming you on this family outing.
