I was born in Vienna (Austria), but I grew up in Munich (Germany). I did my German teaching degree (Staatsexamen) and my PHD in elementary school didactics at the Ludwig-Maximilians-University in Munich.
For several years, I have been working in different primary schools as a classroom teacher. In the year 2011 to 2012, I have been working at the German International School in Boston (USA).
My main focus is that the students are happy at school and that they become independent learners. I love getting to know new cultures and teaching children from a variety of backgrounds. Therefore, my husband Peter and me have chosen to move to Beijing. As I’m also interested in learning languages I’m driven to expand my horizon by learning Chinese.
In my spare-time I love swimming, reading, making music, catching up with friends and ballroom dancing.
