Ian Phillipson

I first joined The British School of Beijing, Shunyi in August 2010 as a teaching assistant in the Sports department. After gaining my PGCE from Leeds Metropolitan University, it has been my drive to work at this successful school again. I have taught PE to students from all ages from 4-18 years in China and England. I have a BA (Hons) degree in Sports Development from Manchester Metropolitan University.

BSB is my third international school and third school in China. I believe that it is possible to achieve the physical potential of every child and develop their confidence to the health and well being of themselves and others.

I like all sports and enjoy participating in a variety of activities. When possible I like to participate in football, cricket, and athletics. I have a vast experience both teaching and participating in his specialist sports, football, volleyball and badminton where I represented the university as vice-chairman. When in Beijing, I like to try and keep active through cycling, running and football, in my spare time I enjoy cheering on my beloved Grimsby Town FC and experiencing different cultures and foods.
