Charlotte Louise Vines (2)

Year 1 Teacher, Head of Year 1

In 2010, I gained a BA (Hons) degree in Psychology and Educational Development from Nottingham Trent University. After graduating, I spent a year working as an Early Years Teaching Assistant at an international school in Rome. I loved the experience and always knew I would like to work in an international school setting in the future. In 2012, I completed my PGCE at St Mary’s University College, Twickenham.

Following my PGCE, I spent a term supply teaching in a variety of schools around London. This was a fantastic opportunity to teach a diverse range of children from Reception up to Year 6. For the last three years, I have worked across Key Stage 1 and 2 in a Catholic Primary school in Roehampton, London. During my time there, I undertook the role of Music Co-ordinator and loved being able to organise lots of wonderful trips and learning opportunities for children across the school. I have also helped lead the school choir, where they have performed at many exciting events such as the installation of children’s author Jacqueline Wilson as Chancellor of Roehampton University.

I am extremely excited on this next phase of my career at BSB with the Year 1 team.

I am originally from Milton Keynes and have lived in London for five years before moving to China. I moved to Beijing with my partner Joe, who is also a teacher at BSB. We love to travel and enjoy the amazing opportunities to visit countries across Asia and beyond.

In my spare time, I love spending time outdoors walking and cycling. I have also recently taken up yoga. I love cooking and enjoy Chinese cooking courses to learn more about Chinese cuisine. I also enjoy listening to a wide variety of music and attending gigs and concerts.
