I graduated with honors from Sunderland University in 2003 after completing a BA in Primary Education. Over the past 11 years, I have worked across all age ranges in the primary range teaching the youngest to the oldest children in primary schools in the North East of England. This gives me an excellent perspective of whole school progression and enables me to understand in more depth how children develop knowledge, skills and understanding.
I have completed a vast range of continuing professional courses, most recently I completing a leadership course with National College of School Leadership. I have held a number of leadership posts in previous schools; including Special Educational Needs, PSHCE, History, Performing arts and I have recently been appointed to lead learning in Science (Toddlers to Year 6) in the British International School of Boston.
I worked at the British School of Houston in 2007, which piqued my interest in international teaching. I returned to the UK with the vision of returning to the international circuit in the future. I was delighted to return to the USA as part of the British International School of Boston in 2013. I am thrilled to be part of an innovative and inspirational team.
My hobbies include performing arts and I have been fortunate to work with very talented actors and musicians in the UK. I have performed in a variety of plays and musicals and I have performed in prestigious theatres in the North of England in both amateur and professional roles.
In addition to my professional qualifications, I also studied Performing Arts at Gateshead College in my free time, which offered me an opportunity to enhance my skills and gain qualifications in the arts.
I also enjoy travel and have travelled to many European cities and historical sites and I am enjoying the opportunity to do the same in America during my free time. My family are very important to me and I enjoy traveling home to visit and being able to provide them the opportunity to visit me in Boston.

what makes this school different
The smaller class sizes offer opportunities to work more closely with the students and really celebrate and extend their learning. This in turn, extends into wider school life allowing parents to be more involved in the school community.
I enjoy that we offer students excellent provision from the ages of 18 months to 18 years. This has offered me the opportunity to work with students and teachers in the middle and high schools, which has helped me to develop my expertise beyond primary school.
Using the International Primary Curriculum allows creativity and continuing high standards. This allows the impact of High Performance learning to be seen in classrooms across the whole school.
