I studied Geography and Development Studies at the University of Sussex before moving to Spain to work in the family construction business and coach soccer. Working with youth soccer allowed me to see players respond to advice and develop as individuals. This experience inspired me to return to my native London and study a PGCE in Secondary Geography at Middlesex University.
I am a strong advocate of the attributes an international education can provide students within an increasingly globalized and competitive world. After seven years in the independent sector in the UK, I decided to fulfill a career long dream by teaching within the international environment by moving to Beijing. Here, I was able to see the benefits of international education first-hand. When I saw an opportunity at BISB, I knew that it was one not to be missed! The reputation of the school and Nord Anglia Education is held in high regard within the international community, and an ideal place for a teacher to grow professionally. I subsequently arrived in Boston in 2014 to continue on my journey.
Away from teaching I am an avid soccer fan. Weekends are often spent waking up early to watch my beloved Chelsea. I also hold an NSCAA Advanced National Diploma and as a result find myself coaching travel teams all over the New England region and regularly come head to head with some of our students! Away from soccer I can be found in Boston’s Little Italy on a regular basis seeking out the best bowl of pasta with my wife Catherine and our daughter Luna.
What makes BISB unique?
Since arriving in Boston I have been amazed by the BISB community. The warmth of the families, enthusiasm of the students, and dedication of the teachers make the School a special place to be. I love the community feel, the friendships students forge with others across all age ranges, and how parents are actively involved in their child’s education! The opportunities afforded to students within the Nord Anglia community are unparalleled. BISB offers a unique and well-rounded education for students in Boston and is an exciting place to be for both a teacher and student.
