English as an Additional Language Teacher

When my three daughters were all school age, I headed back to school at the University of Vermont to complete a Post Baccalaureate Certification Program in Elementary Education. I taught 5th and 6th grade in Vermont for five years, and then traveled with my family to Berlin, Germany to teach at the John F. Kennedy Schule. When I returned to the USA I wanted to gain more administrative experience, and took on the role as administrator and director for a Vermont, non-profit, after-school program. While working as director, I earned my TESL certification, and am thrilled to be back in an international school setting working to support EAL students.

While working in Vermont and in Berlin I chaired several school committees in Math, English, and Student Support, and I am proud to be a licensed educator with HQT (Highly Qualified Teacher) Status.

When I am not living in Boston, I am at our family home in Vermont. I enjoy outdoor activities of all kinds, and love to run and bike on the miles of dirt roads up where I live. When the snow starts to fall, I happily switch to winter sports and head out to ski or snowshoe on the mountain or in the quiet woods. I also love to cook big meals with my husband and my 3 daughters.
