Year 1 Caterpillar Teacher

BA (Hons) Primary Education with QTS (Drama and Early Years), St Mary’s University, Twickenham

Emma began her teaching career at a large multi-cultural Academy in Hayes, Middlesex where she worked as a Reception teacher. She was a founding member of the EYFS team at Nord Anglia International School, Dubai in 2014

Emma has worked in both Nursery and Reception at NAS Dubai and has been heavily involved in the transition period as children move towards Year 1. She has taken part in many courses with Nord Anglia University, which has led to significant improvements in her current teaching practice.

Emma believes that children learn best when encouraged to be independent and make choices for themselves. She uses drama and role play as a way of developing self-confidence which in turn helps creativity to flourish. Emma has high expectations for her students and inspires them to be the best that they can be.

Emma enjoys following sports, particularly athletics and is a keen sprinter herself. She likes trying strange food and experimenting with new recipes.
