Head of Art

BA (Hons) Art and Psychology, Liverpool Hope University

PGCE Art, John Moore’s University, Liverpool

Claire began her teaching career in 2003 and taught Art for 3 years in the UK. During this time, she played an important role in securing Enterprise status for her school. Claire embarked on her first overseas post to Brunei Darussalam in South East Asia where she spent 7 years at a top international school. During her time in Brunei Claire was commissioned to produce a series of art works for a wellness clinic. Claire moved to the UAE where she took up the post as Head of Art in a brand new international school which went on to have three successive outstanding inspections in three years. Claire was involved in a wide variety of extra-curricular and innovative activities during her career and lead and delivered Philosophy for Children to her peers and students.

Claire joined NAE in January 2017 and is excited to be part of the Nord Anglia group.

Claire believes that everyone has an artistic flair in some form or other and that it is the task of the teacher to help each person embrace and explore this fully. Art is more than a practical subject, it is there to invoke a range of emotional, spiritual and cultural responses. Claire believes art can be used as a major tool in creating philosophical thinkers.

In her spare time, Claire enjoys visiting galleries and museums and exploring her surroundings with her young family. Claire is a keen photographer and painter and is passionate about embarking on new experiences.
