Doug started his teaching career in 2004 at a large comprehensive school in the UK.  After 3 years he moved to a selective day school to lead ICT across the school. In 2011 Doug took up his first international teaching post in Belgium where he taught IGCSE, moderated for the IB Diploma Programme and was part of the steering group that led the school to an outstanding CIS inspection.  During his career he has held several leadership positions including Head of Computing, Acting Director of ICT and ICT Manager.  He has significant experience of the implementation of new learning environments, the rollout of 1:1 devices, school data systems and delivering PD to colleagues.  

Doug joined BISB in 2017 as Computer Science & ICT Leader.  

Doug is passionate about using computer science education to develop students’ problem solving and computational thinking skills.  He uses progressive teaching and the latest technology to create a subject infused with innovation and creativity.  Doug encourages his students to be determined and show perseverance when tackling problems to ensure they achieve their best.  

In his spare time, Doug enjoys running 20km races, attending matches of as many different European football clubs as he can and exploring Budapest and the surrounding region with his family.
