Biology Teacher

BSc (Hons) Biological Sciences (Zoology) University of Liverpool

PGCE Secondary Science (Biology) University of Newcastle-upon-Tyne

Nikki obtained a degree in Biological Sciences in 2003 from the University of Liverpool. After working in the medical field for three years, she completed a PGCE, qualifying as a Biology teacher. Nikki began teaching in 2007, and has since worked in 7 different schools. During her time teaching, she has had responsibility for student progress, carrying out action research within a school to improve the pastoral system and running Science clubs. She has also been an exam marker for GCSE Biology and A Level Biology examination boards, which has allowed her to gain expert knowledge and insight into what answers are required. Nikki recently became an exam marker for IB Biology and has been Head of Grade for the past year at her school in China. Nikki moved to BISB to further her teaching skills whilst working in a multicultural and multinational school.

Nikki first joined NAE in 2015, working at BIS Bratislava as a Science teacher. She took full advantage of the opportunities offered through Nord Anglia University and completed one of the online Global Campus Professional Development programmes. She re-joined NAE as a Biology teacher at BIS Budapest in 2017.

Nikki likes to bring science into real life situations and regularly creates fun and interactive ways for her students to learn. She has set up many science clubs in different schools, helping to instil a thirst of science knowledge in her students. She is a committed member of staff who fully endorses the school ethos. Nikki is ambitious for her students and believes in allowing the students to take the lead in their learning. Ultimately, her aim is to equip all students with lifelong skills to enable them to succeed in the wider world.

As a keen Biologist and with an interest in Medicine and how the human body works, she loves to travel and experience new things, visiting as many different countries as possible. In her spare time, she enjoys gym classes, doing charity runs, participating in cultural events and treating herself to the odd spa treatment!
