Staff Profile - Yewon Heo

Primary-Secondary EAL Learning Support

Yewon Heo has a Masters Degree in TESOL from Ewha Women’s University. She joined Northbridge International School from Chadwick International, Incheon where she was an EAL Learning Support Teacher for 2 years.

  • Master of Teaching English to Speakers of Other Language (TESOL), Ewha Women’s University
  • Bachelor of English Literature and Chinese Literature, Catholic University of Korea
  • Certificate in Korean Language Teaching, Seoul National University

Yewon Heo attended the Catholic University of Korea and earned a degree in English Literature and Chinese Literature. During this time she went on an exchange to New Zealand and China which inspired her to see more of the world. After teaching English in Kindergarten for 3 years, she continued her education by earning her Master’s Degree in TESOL.

Before moving to Cambodia, Yewon worked as an EAL Learning Support Teacher in the Middle School Student Support Team at Chadwick International in South Korea. This experience reinforced her belief that every student has something of value to offer, and her job is to support them to discover and nurture it. She also contributed to the extra-curricular life of the school with coordinating and supporting Global Issues Network (GIN) student conference.

As a teacher, Yewon wants her student to have a chance to dig deeply into their thoughts, feelings, desires and dreams and have a deeper understanding of their place in the world. She looks forward to sharing her values with Northbridge students and hopes she could positively impact their lives.
