Staff Profile - Lana Lautamus

MYP Special Education Needs Teacher

Lana Lautamus has an Education Degree from Canada. She joined Northbridge International School Cambodia in August 2016, working in the PYP and will be supporting in MYP this school year as the Special Education Needs Teacher.

Lana is the Secondary Special Education Needs teacher. Born and raised on a farm outside a very small town/village in Saskatchewan, Canada, she lived  in Thailand a total of 10.5 years before moving to Cambodia in August 2016. She completed her Bachelor of Secondary Education, with an extra certification in Special Needs Education, at the University of Regina (Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada). She is an experienced and trained IB educator in both the PYP and MYP programs as well as being a certified Mindfulness in Schools Project teacher.

Prior to joining Northbridge, Lana worked for the Regina Public School Board and made her first trip to Thailand to work at Lertlah International School Program (in Bangkok) from 2001 to 2003. She returned to Canada and worked as a Special Needs Educator at Ecole Peter Hall School in Montreal, Quebec, Canada for a few years. In January 2008, she returned to Thailand and was employed at KIS International School (Bangkok) for six and a half years, working in both the Upper PYP and MYP programs. Her previous job in Thailand was at Phuket International Academy (now United World College Thailand) spending two years as the Secondary Learning Support Teacher and assisting with some of the duties of the MYP Coordinator role.
