Staff Profile: Richard Vaughan

Richard Vaughan

Principal

Born in Sri Lanka, with early infant education in New Zealand followed by junior and senior schools and higher education in the United Kingdom.

  • Bachelor of Education (Hons), Westminster College in Oxford, UK
  • National Professional Qualification for Headship, National College of School Leadership, UK

Richard joined Northbridge International School Cambodia in August 2017. Prior to this he was Principal of Britannica International School in Budapest and before that was Head of An Phu Primary Campus at the British International School in Ho Chi Minh City. Richard was previously the Head of two UK primary schools.

Throughout his career Richard has undertaken various teaching and leadership roles in schools around the world. He is a keen and reflective learner who enjoys leading and developing teams of teachers. He has a genuine desire to make a difference in the life of others, in the communities that he serves. He is passionate about the role education can play in transforming the hearts and minds of individuals in the societies they live in.

When he is not working, time is spent in the company of his family. He is married to Alison who is also a qualified teacher by training, has one University aged daughter Harriet, currently studying in the UK and one secondary aged son Tom, who is a student at Northbridge. He enjoys relaxing by running and playing tennis and likes spending time reading, being an active member of a local church, travelling and listening to music.
