Each year, Northbridge sends a delegation of High School students to participate in Model United Nations (MUN) conferences. In the past, students have travelled to South Africa, France, China, Vietnam and Turkey for conferences.
Students participate in mock diplomatic sessions focused on current global issues such as nuclear non-proliferation, global warming, oceanic dead zones, worker's rights in developing countries and limiting the growth of the military-industrial complex. MUN delegations engage in extensive research on these issues while also honing their debate skills in preparation for the event. When possible, students also have the opportunity to visit cultural and historical sites in and around the city they travel to.
For the 2014-15 academic year we participated in both the Phnom Penh MUN and the Yale NUS Asia Pacific MUN in Singapore.
