I studied for 4 years at Roehampton Institute in London, England and gained a BA (Hons) QTS degree from The University of Surrey in 1997. I have been teaching for 17 years and I have taught in a wide variety of private, state and international schools, both in the UK and all over the world. I have taught in various year groups within Key Stage 2 as well as teaching English in Key Stage 3 in the Middle East. I have held various positions of responsibility during my career including Deputy Head Teacher, Head of Key Stage 2 and English and I have been a school governor.
This is the third time I have worked at The British School in Charlotte and I am thrilled to be back! I have enjoyed my experiences in the USA thus far and I am thrilled to be able to now return to live and work here as part of the Nord Anglia Education group.
I enjoy travelling as much as possible and have travelled and lived in many different countries in the world. I am very interested in Amateur Dramatics and have performed in several plays and directed and assisted production of many shows, both in and out of schools, which I thoroughly enjoy.
This school is unique because of its sense of strong ‘family community’ feel that it possesses. It caters to the most personalised learning of each and every child that I have ever seen in any school I have worked in. The school also aids and nurtures development of the whole child with such a holistic approach to each and every child, one that I have never seen to the same extent elsewhere.
