Kayla Burggraf

Kayla Burggraf, Studio 814 Teaching Artist

Teaching Artist, Flute - Studio 814

Kayla Burggraf is the Principal Flute of the Des Moines Symphony, Principal Flute of the Ann Arbor Symphony and a member of the Civic Orchestra of Chicago. Ms. Burggraf has also performed with the Lyric Opera of Chicago, New York Philharmonic and New World Symphony, among others. Ms. Burggraf holds a master’s degree from the Manhattan School of Music and a bachelor’s degree from Rice University where she graduated with Distinction in Research and Creative Works. She is a passionate teacher having held a private studio for 7 years in Houston, New York and Chicago and has given masterclasses at several universities and high schools. 

Her Teaching Philosophy:

I strive not only to help my students become the best flute players they can be, but through studying music, become better human beings. Learning an instrument requires discipline, critical thinking, perseverance and self exploration to reach utmost expression.
