Guitar Teacher

I am a Chicago based guitarist and music teacher. I have been teaching for seven years and currently instruct students in rock / jazz guitar and theory.

I perform regularly around Chicago and tour with different bands as called, but have also been afforded a number of special teaching opportunities. While working on my degrees at UIUC (and since that time), I have helped to lead master classes at Paris Conservatory, Midwest Clinic in Chicago, Jazz Educators’ Network conferences, and at a number of different universities and high schools. My passion and guiding principles have always been in the realm of improvising. I take it on upon myself, and aim to share with students, different ways to create music spontaneously or compositionally, at the same time engendering the desire to learn and understand as much about any musical style or situation a musician could find themselves in.
