Douglas McNeill

This year, as an aspiring leader, I plan to enable our parent community in the ambitious philosophy and teaching practice that encompasses life here at BISC Lincoln Park. By continuing parent workshops, I will provide skills and opportunities to strengthen the education of our students both at school and in the home.

I was born and raised in the bustling city of Glasgow, in the West of Scotland. After traveling around Scotland and Europe for some time attending university, teaching, volunteering abroad and soaking up the culture, I made the decision to move to the US. In Glasgow, we have a saying that 'People make Glasgow'; the same could be said for Chicago. I love visiting the different neighborhoods, exploring the city and suburbs, meeting new people and celebrating the diversity that makes Chicago shine, just as its beautiful architecture does!

Learning is a life long journey and like every journey, it comes with its own unique strengths and challenges. I believe that learning has no limits; there are no fixed restrictions. Learning can be adapted to follow our interests, to incorporate what we learn from our mistakes and with each accomplishment to empower those around us. Every student is a leader in their own right and as educators we are here to provide the tools and guidance for them to succeed in life knowing that the opportunities are limitless.
