Aspiring Leader

My aspiring leadership role is focused on whole school assessment. I will work very closely with the Senior Leadership Team and Subject Leaders to develop and enhance our assessment as well as reporting systems, creating an approach that is valued and understood by all stakeholders.

I was born in Cheshire, a county in the North West of England, and grew up in Manchester with my parents, younger brother and our dog, Milo! After spending 5 years living in Liverpool at the beginning of my career, I moved to Chicago in August 2012. I love everything about this city - from the culture and architecture to the food and Summer festivals!

My core belief as a teacher is that there is no limit to what every student can achieve. Learning is certainly not linear; it is a complex process that stops and starts, leaps and sleeps. I believe that, with a personalized curriculum that provides an appropriate balance of challenge and success, we can encourage a growth mindset in which children move away from fixed ability thinking. It is this attitude that will allow students to reach for the stars and believe that they truly are capable of anything.
