I grew up in a lovely area of England called Ascot until the age of 18 when I moved to study in the seaside city of Brighton. I loved living by the sea and thoroughly enjoy any water-based activities, such as swimming and kayaking. For the past 5 years, I have been living in East London where I completed my PGCE at Goldsmiths University. Since graduating I have taught for 4 years at a wonderful London primary school. Living in another major city excites me, and I cannot wait to see what Chicago has in store! Moving to the US has always been a dream of mine, and I am thrilled to be working at such a fantastic school.
My teaching philosophy is based upon the belief that each child is unique and will learn in an individual manner. As a teacher, it is vital that I get to know every student inside out. This allows me to tap into their own interests, as a way to engage and create an excitement towards learning. Children are enthused when have ownership over their learning and understand that it is tailored towards them. Each lesson must reflect the various ways that children learn and allow every single student to make progress.
