I was born and raised in London. I initially turned to a career in hospital pharmacy and progressed through various roles. Deciding on a new career path and keen to develop further, I attended Kingston University and graduated in 2010 with a Bachelor of Science in Exercise, Nutrition and Health. While completing my degree, I worked with an active living charity, which aimed to increase the physical activity levels of families. Volunteering for such an organisation reignited a childhood dream to be a teacher and I was taken in a new direction. Upon leaving university, I began working with a charitable Saturday school for disadvantaged children, in their Science program. I then secured a place at the University of Greenwich and completed my teacher training. During three successful years at a vibrant, inner-London school, I have taught in Years 5 and 6 as well as have taken on the role of Science Curriculum Development Leader.
I love that there is always something new to do or see in Chicago. My favorite experience so far has been kayaking down the river, and I'm looking forward to the various festivals and musical performances taking place throughout the year.
