Learning Assistant for Ms. Sargeant

I was born and raised in the northwest suburbs of Illinois. Upon graduating high school, I moved to Chicago to attend Loyola University Chicago where I graduated with a degree in Sociology. I have conducted research for the Ounce of Prevention program which provides education to low-income families. My research inspired me to become involved with education first at a preschool and then here at BISCLP. I love living in Chicago because you get to meet all kinds of people with different backgrounds and stories. Chicago has so many diverse neighborhoods, so far I have lived in six different ones including Hyde Park and Rogers Park. My favorite place to visit is the Art Institute of Chicago, I never tire of that museum!

It's incredibly important that students are inspired by their education. Creativity is crucial because we as people are constantly evolving by discovering new ideas. I feel that imparting that to students is a valuable lesson because challenges will come in different shapes and forms yet it's our creativity that helps us grow and overcome challenges!
