Today we have been using our learning on tangrams to make our own tangrams - ready to challenge our teachers!
The children had a fantastic visit from the Morton Arboretum! Packed with resources such as seeds, bird skeletons, beaver skins, and microscopes (just to name a few), the children got to explore and learn about the native wildlife and ecosystem that exist in Illinois. The children learned about the different variety of trees found in Illinois and about the life cycle of the tree and the formation of soil. The children were enthralled and thoroughly understanding when learning the importance of sustainability and the environmental impacts of pollution for both humans and animals alike.
“I like how they bought in the animal skins, we got to feel them and understand how they helped to keep animals warm in the water as well as waterproof!”- Amalie
