Last Thursday the children embraced World Book Day! Their costumes were amazing but the best part of the day for Nursery was when Year 3 children came down to read with them. Everyone enjoyed the experience so much that we will continue to promote this partnership between the year groups. Nursery can’t wait for their next visit!
It was Dr. Seuss’ birthday this week and Reception celebrated the day by sharing lots of his books. Mr. Biggs even joined us in the afternoon to read The Cat in the Hat to us. As if that wasn’t enough book madness for one week, we also celebrated World Book Day all dressed up as our favorite book characters! We had a parade with the Nursery children and enjoyed lots of activities through the day celebrating the joy of books.
In the Monkeys we particularly enjoyed a visit from the Jolly Jaguars, who came to be our reading buddies. We had a jolly good time! There were lots of extra mystery readers this week and we have been enjoying looking at all the extreme reading pictures from the children and staff. Even our teachers in Reception did some extreme reading in a pirate ship! We can’t wait to find a comfy nook and get stuck into another book!
