Art

In Year 4 this week we have been learning to stitch. This skill will be used when we create our pillows next week.

Music

Today Friday, May 15 is the BSC Perform-a-thon, an all day event where students perform music all day. We are raising money for the Lurie Children's Hospital. There have been some great music themed costumes!

Science

Year 6 have been continuing to learn about light.  They have learned how light travels, how shadows are formed, how they see things and drawn diagrams to represent this.  This week they have been investigating angles of reflection using ray boxes and mirrors.  They learned to measure the angles of incidence and angles of reflection and made comparisons between the two.  The children had fun applying what they had learned about the reflection of light from a mirror  to create a treasure map.  They had to consider the angles of incidence and reflection in order to find the buried treasure!

Languages

In Year 2 Spanish, students have been learning the rooms of the house. They learned a really cool song and added their own actions to help them remember the different rooms.

PE

In PE this week, Year 3 have been learning flag football skills as part of their Games for Understanding: Invasion Games topic. No need to worry about the footballs though, Tom Brady has been nowhere near them!

Dance

This week in Dance, Nursery used props to try and move like different types of sea creatures. Some used scooters to skim the ocean floor like a flounder fish, others used scarves to float like jellyfish. We finished by creating an aquarium dance.
