By Mrs. Demelza Wheeler-Ozanne, Year 3 Teacher & Key Stage 2 Leader

In the Primary School, children partake in weekly STEAM lessons, which focus on Science, Technology, Engineering and Math. Children in Year 3 have been learning about the engineering process in their STEAM lessons, albiet with an interesting twist!

WIth help from room parents and a bit of inspiration from famous international buildings, the children created self-supported structures...using only raw spaghetti and marshmallows! They had great fun and also learned that sometimes it's necessary to go back and repeat a few steps before achieving a design that meets the criteria. What a way to learn about STEAM while becoming resilient learners!
