JV Boys Score Second Place in Dramatic Basketball Final

  • British International School of Chicago, South Loop | Private School Chicago

Congratulations to the JV Boys Basketball Team for placing second in the league!

Throughout the season the boys consistently played with great skill and sportsmanship. They entered playoffs as No. 2 seed with a winning record of 11-3. After a comfortable win in the first playoff game, the Bulldogs faced a more competitive match-up in the second. They took the win but looked to improve for the final versus City Day.

Game three against City Day was epic with both teams matching in ability, fitness and tactical knowledge. The game was tied up at the half after a late 7-0 run by the opponent. In the second half, the Bulldogs came out a stronger team, securing defensive rebounds and upping the tempo. Following a strategic timeout by City Day, the Bulldogs lost a one-point lead with unforced errors and missed open baskets. In the final 2.3 seconds, Chris rebounded a missed free throw by City Day and attempted a three-pointer. The ball rattled the rim, but didn’t drop, leading to a City Day victory.

Onward to next season!
