Director of College Counseling

I joined British International School of Chicago in 2013, and I am so excited to share my college knowledge and passion for college counseling with all students, parents, faculty and staff. My main goal is to ensure that every student finds the college, university or post-secondary plan to best fit his or her needs.

I grew up in the northwest suburbs of Chicago where I attended high school at Adlai E. Stevenson High School in Lincolnshire, Illinois. I received my bachelor’s degree from Indiana University (go Hoosiers!) with majors in psychology and sociology and a minor in Spanish. After my time at IU, I attended DePaul University and received a master's degree in education and school counseling. As a school counselor intern at Buffalo Grove High School, I developed a passion for college counseling. After graduate school I worked in admissions for a university in Florida and gained valuable insight into the university perspective on college admissions.

In my free time I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, cooking, traveling, visiting college campuses and watching college and Chicago sports.

This school is different to all others I have worked at because of our wonderful students - they truly make the school a uniquely special place.  We have such an incredibly diverse student body, faculty and staff and it is quite amazing to see how our students accept and embrace differences. Our students have a thirst for knowledge and exploration and are challenged to become critical thinkers. Learning at BISC goes beyond just earning a grade; it prepares our students to be to be successful in university and beyond.
