Global Community Engagement
At BISC South Loop, students develop into global citizens through our international curriculum and by supporting charity efforts on a global scale. We've worked with UNICEF on worldwide relief efforts and have raised money to fund educational opportunities for children in need. Each year, our High School Juniors take part a citizenship expedition to Arusha, Tanzania, where they perform service work with the local community.
Local Community Support
We take part in many local charity events, inside and outside of school. We hold collection drives throughout the school year to donate to local organizations such as the Greater Chicago Food Depository, One Warm Coat and Open Books. We also unite our school community for charity walk/runs, like the Aon Step Up for Kids stair climb and Make-A-Wish Walk & Run for Wishes. On top of these activities, we plan community events for students and parents with proceeds supporting Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago.
Creativity, Action, Service (CAS)
In High School, CAS is a required course for the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program. Students complete CAS hours by participating in school-run philanthropic events, planning their own charity initiatives and performing community service hours outside of school.
