Dear Parents,

Thank you for all your support with the school’s increased security.  Please remember that children arriving before 6.45am must be supervised by an adult until the gate opens.

As the weather has now become a little cooler could you please ensure that your child is wearing a school fleece or a plain navy sweatshirt or cardigan whilst in school.  Normal coats can be worn outside in cooler months. If you require any further information about school uniform please contact Erin Jordan.  Could I also remind parents that children who choose to wear earrings should be wearing studs and there should be no necklaces or bracelets worn whilst your child is in school. Children are allowed to wear watches.  Nail varnish is not allowed and will be removed by the school nurse.

We had a very successful Coffee Morning on Tuesday, it was lovely to meet many of our parents.  Thank you for sharing your thoughts.  Following the Coffee Morning the ‘Friends of Compass’ met to discuss this term’s events.  Thank you to all the parents who were able to attend this meeting.  Next Wednesday, the school will be hosting a movie afternoon for children from Early Years to Year 6.  Tickets will be on sale next week.  Also this week, the children have been engaged in many fun activities to enhance their learning.  Year 1 held a fashion show on Tuesday and today it was Pirate Day in Early Years 1 and Favourite Clothes Day in Early Years 2.  Thank you to all the parents who were able to attend today’s assembly.  I hope you enjoyed viewing your child in their school environment.

Congratulations to the children who participated in this week’s Cross Country Run.  I wasn’t able to attend this event but I heard that our children were fantastic.

You will be receiving an email today from Mr. Wheldon, the school’s Maths Coordinator.  In order to extend our learning provision, the school has subscribed to RM Easimaths.  Mr. Wheldon plans to host a quick 15 minute introductory workshop for all parents on Wednesday, 18 January at two separate times.  The times are 7.30am to 7.45am and 1.00pm to 1.15pm.  Further information will be emailed to parents who are unable to attend either of the meetings.

Thank you once again for all your support.

Have a wonderful weekend.

Karen Wilson
