As part of our collaboration with UNICEF , Nord Anglia Education schools have been given the special privilege of working towards the global goals for sustainable development a year earlier than any other school. They have allowed Nord Anglia to pave the way for UNICEF allowing us to showcase our work as an example to the whole world. Global Goals 2 (Zero hunger) and Goal 3 (Good health and well-being) was the focus for the Global Challenge 16/17.
At Rayyan Campus we implemented these two goals into our school life with healthy eating drives and our own research into food waste at our school. We carried out a scientific study into why we waste food and , after an action plan was implemented , reduced this amount. We handed out healthy snacks, held assemblies and awarded children for having healthy lunch boxes which boosted concentration and promoted a healthy diet.
Rayyan Campus submitted a video to Global Campus and UNICEF which showcased our interaction with these Global Goals and showed how these goals were implemented in our school.
We are happy to announce that from the 47 Nord Anglia Education schools around the world, our Rayyan Campus was awarded “The Most Sustainable Solution”.
Well done to everyone that got involved and we look forward to similar success in this year’s focus which is Goal 10 (Sustainable Cities and Communities) and Goal 11 (Responsible Consumption).
