Homework off to a flying start.

After another busy week in school, I have found some time to review our new Show My Homework, as well as the more established Managebac system.  The range of uploaded homework assignments, tests and presentations has students speaking positively about how easily they can access and complete their homework.

It has been proven that homework has significant impact upon student outcomes and overall academic attainment, which is why we have identified it as one of our five main areas for us to focus upon for the remainder of the school year. We will be exploring how we can further develop Show my Homework and Managebac to increase learning opportunities, consolidate prior learning and empower our students to become independent learners.

The IB Diploma is our flagship academic programme. It was a real pleasure to welcome students and parents from our current Year 11 cohort, as well as new families from other local international schools to our IB Transition Evening. Mr Hughes warmly welcomed everyone and shared his expertise on how the IB Diploma and IB Courses Programme is recognised across the world, as the preferred pre-university qualification. With our very first cohort sitting examinations in 2016, we were very pleased when they achieved results above the world average (29 Diploma Points) but we are determined to set ambitious targets for all our students to reach even higher levels of attainment.

We look forward to supporting our Year 11 and Year 13 students as they head towards their examinations, and we are determined to provide the very best support for them as they endeavour to meet their own high expectations.

I hope you all enjoy a restful weekend.
