Here we are, at the end of the school year, in what has been a tremendous year at Rayyan Campus.
When I reflect on all that has happened in school since last September, I think we can truly say that it has been one full of challenging learning, fantastic opportunities and great fun. Flicking through the yearbook, we can see how much our students have been involved and engaged in so many exciting activities and pushed themselves to do their best. Our academic results are better than ever as the children have learned to take risks, evaluate their learning and grow in confidence.
I would like to thank Staff and parents for making this such a successful year. The Rayyan Community is extremely strong and it is those partnerships that are taking us forward. Thank you parents for your endless support of activities, competitions, school events and more importantly, your children.
Sadly, some of our teachers are leaving Rayyan to move on to new adventures in different schools and countries. We are indebted to them for their contribution to school and for nurturing our children so well over the past years. They have been excellent colleagues and friends and I am sure you will join me in wishing them good luck in their new post and hope that they will come in to visit us if they return to Qatar in the future.
Thank you to the parents who have fed back so positively about the new uniform for September. A pop up shop will be available in school the week before school starts and during Term 1. The uniform will also be available from Uniform Mart on Salwa Road or in Gharaffa, from the end of August. Please note that the new uniform includes a school cap and black leather shoes for a smarter appearance. We expect children to wear both, even if you are phasing out the old uniform. Please make sure your child has a school cap in September as we will be operating a no school hat, no play policy. Children should also wear a navy swimsuit or swimming trunks, where possible.
This morning we held an assembly to thank the people who help us around school. Mrs Marie Booth from Friends of Compass School presented staff with a gift on behalf of parents and school staff at Rayyan. From the Security Guards who welcome us in the morning, the cleaners who keep the campus clean and tidy to the maintenance team who keep our facilities in good working order; they all contribute to making Rayyan Campus a lovely school to be in and a healthy and safe environment.
We are very sad to say goodbye to some of our longest attending students and some who have not been here so long as they move on to Madinat Khalifa with their older brothers or sisters or to pastures new with their family. Each and every child has contributed so much to Rayyan school life and been a great friend to their peers. We know that they have enjoyed their time here and hope that they leave us well prepared for the next step on their learning journey and new adventure.
I wish you all a safe journey as you set off on holiday and hope you have a wonderful, restful break with family and friends. Eid Mubarak and Happy Holidays. See you on 10th September for the start of another great year.
With best wishes,
