I trained as a teacher at The University of the West of England in Bristol, UK in 2000 and have over 13 years of teaching experience. I taught in Bristol for 3 years then decided to venture abroad and experience the life of international teaching. I moved to Shanghai in 2007 and taught at the British International School, Shanghai which was a Nord Anglia Education school. During my time here I was responsible for leading the Year 3 team in the planning, implementation and assessment of the curriculum. I met my husband at this school and after 4 fantastic years in China we moved to Hong Kong. We lived there for 5 years and I taught at two very different schools. I began at the Singapore International School teaching English to primary aged children but felt I needed to be challenged more and wanted to teach a more board and holistic curriculum. The English Schools Foundation is a well-established community of schools across Hong Kong and I was fortunate to work alongside a committed and dedicated team at Kowloon Junior School for 3 years.
Now I find myself here in Doha teaching at the Compass International School at Madinat Khalifia in Year 4. I am excited to be working in this school and to be surrounded by a diverse culture of students and teachers. I believe in providing an all-inclusive education in an environment where children learn from mistakes to become successful lifelong learners.
In my spare time I enjoy spending quality time with my family and going out on day trips together. To stay fit and healthy, I like to practice yoga as well as going to the gym. I am creative and enjoy both painting and designing my own greeting cards.
