Year 5 Teacher

I am from Wales and obtained my B.Ed in Primary Education from Exeter University. After my first year of teaching in Plymouth, I taught in Scotland and then in London for four years as a special needs teacher.

My husband and I decided to travel overseas and we moved between Australia and London for the next ten years. I taught in Perth for four years where I was able to further develop my skills as a teacher.

Before moving to Doha in 2014, we spent six amazing years living in Japan. During that time I worked as a supply teacher at an international school in Yokohama.

My three children have been students at Compass School since 2014. My eldest daughter is in Year 12 studying for the IB Diploma, my son is in Year 10 and my youngest daughter is in Year 6. As a teacher I am very excited to have the opportunity to teach in a Nord Anglia School. As a parent, I am delighted that my children will be provided with an education that provides exceptional experiences, develops confidence and will enable them to become independent learners and thinkers.

In my spare time I enjoy travelling with my family. My hobbies also include cooking, reading, playing squash and tennis.

My favourite quote is:

‘In order to succeed, we must first believe that we can’ - Nikos Kazantzakis

For me to ‘be ambitious’ means to set your goals high and never give up. There are no limitations to how great your successes can be!
