Richard Bartlett

Year 7 Form Tutor and Maths Teacher

This is my fifth year at Madinat Khalifa teaching Maths and the fourth as head of Mathematics. Before that I was head of maths for sixteen years in a school in the UK and an examiner for the Oxford Cambridge and RSA board for over 20 years. Having spent the whole of my teaching career in the UK I decided it was time for a new challenge and better weather! Coming to MK was one of the best decisions I have made.

The students are wonderful and I really enjoy teaching them mathematics. I also enjoy taking the students on trips abroad. Over the years I have taken students to the battlefields of northern France; cultural visits to Madrid, Rome and Pompeii and ski trips to Italy. Whilst at MK I have run the Space Camp Turkey trip with Mrs Paratian. I believe trips like these are an important part of a student’s education and something they always remember.

Compass International School is a wonderful mix of nationalities of the students and staff. There is a real international feel about the place and the students are a delight to teach.

In England I used to enjoy playing golf and football every week. In Qatar I still like to do these things but have also taken up kite surfing and paddle boarding.

WHAT THE STUDENTS SAY

We have fun and we still learn! Year 7 student
